FREESAT and SKY are transmitted to your house from the Astra satellite. To be able to receive the signal you need to have a clear line of sight between your satellite dish installation and the actual satellite. Any obstacles will reduce or block the digital TV signal.
You can quite easily have a look to see if there are any major problems for your reception. Satellite installations in Ascot need the dish to point to the south-east, at a bearing of 146.4° to be exact. They also need to point slightly into the air at 25° from horizontal. If you’ve got a compass simply stand near where you think the satellite dish might be installed and look in that direction and slightly up. If you can see any major obstacles then you could potentially have a problem with satellite TV.
This is one of the main reasons why we always do a free on-site test before we start any installation work. There’s always a chance that something will get in the way and we would hate to promise you something we couldn’t deliver. By doing a proper test we can guarantee a good quality, reliable FREESAT or SKY installation.
To book your free on-site survey or if you just need more information about the FREESAT or SKY services then just call us and we’ll be happy to help you.
